Hueston Woods Resort is the host facility for the GSMDCA 2008 National Specialty. The 96-room lodge is situated on a bluff overlooking Action Lake. Amenities include a dining room, snack bar, gift shop, meeting rooms, lounge, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, game room, and lighted tennis court. Hueston Woods provides a Smoke Free environment.

Be sure to specify you are with the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club when making your reservations. We are on contract to fill a minimum number of rooms, so we need you to declare who you are, and so that you can receive the discounted rates.

There is no additional fee for dogs.
A $100 deposit is required at the time of reservation. IF canceled 2 weeks prior to the date of arrival, the deposit is refundable. There is no additional deposit for dogs in rooms. Dogs in rooms are required to be crated.

We have succeeded in getting the RV Campground to waive their normal 2 dog limit for the purposes of our show. The RV Campground is located 3 miles from the hotel and rings but does have the benefit of offering electricty. Water and dumpsites are available as well as additional shower houses. The area to be reserved is called Hueston Woods Park Area 3, B sites B24-B46. That puts us at the back section of the B loop. Cost for reservations should be $22-25. King Rooms have one king sized bed in the room. 3 lakeside king rooms are non-smoking, with a private balcony overlooking beautiful Acton Lake. 1 wood side king room is designated as a smoking room. Couples Cottages The charming one bedroom couples cottages can sleep three people with a bunk bed (a single bed on the top bunk, a double bed on the bottom bunk) and feature a gas fireplace, cable television, and fully equipped kitchens, including coffee maker, toaster, and microwave. Although there is no porch, the cottages are located on the edge of Acton Lake, providing some of our best cottage views.
Cottages
Cottages are in a wooded setting located about 1 mile from the lodge. Maid service is not available at the cottages but Hueston Woods offers linen exchange on Wednesdays for weekly rentals.
Premier Cottages The premier cottages are located on the lakeside, approximately 1 mile from the resort. They have one bedroom with a queen-size bed and a bunk bed (a single bed on the top bunk and a single bed on the bottom bunk). New wooden paneling in the kitchen/living area gives the cottage its rustic feel, but the amenities are modern all the way, with two gas fireplaces and cable TV. New furniture and carpet, as well as new fixtures and counter tops in both kitchen and bathroom guarantee a comfortable stay. Towels and linens are provided and the kitchens are fully furnished with a stove and oven, refrigerator and freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, cookware and dishes. The screened-in porch holds a picnic table and additional seating.
